~ Mews Garden ~

I was delighted to have reimagined this lovely

garden for a fabulous elderly lady who adores

gardening!

Over time, the space had become a little

lost - full of uneven surfaces, tricky level changes and  scattered pots that made it difficult to move around and enjoy.

She wanted simplicity, beauty and accessibility.

So I  designed an elegant circular layout, reusing her

charming water feature and creating multiple seating

spots to soak up the space.

Most of the garden was  levelled, with a gentle slope added where needed, to

future-proof it and make it easy to navigate for years to come.

Thought process:

Anne really loves her plants and loves her garden. And there was lots of charm about it. So I really wanted to keep the mature planting and the charm. I wanted to make sure it felt like a lovely place to just sit, peaceful and beautiful but also inviting her in to potter and garden without ever feeling like its a chore because its all got too much.

It was also really important to me and her daughter that the garden was safe to move around and future proofs incase her mobility deteriorates. So I wanted it to be on one level as far as possible with a ramp for the one necessary level change.

Somehow I just knew that I wanted it to be curvaceous and that circular based design was the way to go.
